Good materials start with good agronomy. We run cultivar trials and fiber research with university and federal partners, then push what we learn back to our growers.
Cultivar trials
University research partnerships.
We work with the Southern University Ag and Engineering research team, and with LSU, on seed variety and cultivar testing for Louisiana's climate and our Program. Trials include King Gee 2, Yuma K, Woongarra, Carmenecta, Futura 83, and several other varieties. This work selects the genetics that go into the Louisiana Producer Program and sets the agronomic guidance growers receive.

Federal research
USDA Climate Control Program.
Through the USDA Climate Control Program with Southern University, we study how Louisiana's climate affects fiber development and crop performance. Better data on growing conditions means higher-value fiber from the same field and stronger guidance for our growers.
Applied & global work
Research that reaches the soil and the world market.
Phytoremediation
Working with local environmental agencies on hemp-based phytoremediation, using the crop to draw contaminants out of soil and restore degraded land.
International Distribution
Partnering with international distribution groups to move Louisiana fiber and materials into global supply chains.
